Jola Drozd

Secretary - Quo Vadis III

Jola received her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 2008, and her Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in 2010. In 2005, she was the Secretary of the Polish Student Association (PSA) at the University of Toronto. After attending Quo Vadis II in Windsor in May 2010, Jola's passion for building a stronger Polonia deepened, landing her the role of Secretary on the 2010-2011 executive committee. She strongly believes that: "we need to be the change that we want to see in Polonia." Moreover, through her experience as a teacher candidate, she has had the opportunity to learn about social responsibility, which has translated itself into the realization that she too is a "global citizen". Jola has passionately been dedicated to social justice in everything that she does. She is particularly sensitive to the issue of human trafficking because it begs the question of human rights. Living in a privileged setting in North America has inspired her to raise awareness about this heinous crime and attempt to seek retribution for its victims.
