Jerry Barycki
Jerry Barycki is a professional civil engineer, a community volunteer and an avid organizer of
Polish-Canadian events. He was born and raised in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1982.
From 1988 to 2010 he served on the Board of Directors of the Polonia Park housing project,
comprising 342 apartments. He co-founded the Polish Canadian Business and Professional
Association of Windsor and since 1997 serves as President. He was the initiator and co-organizer
of the Windsor and Lublin twin-city partnership since 2000 and a member of the International
Relations Committee of the City of Windsor since 2002. He co-founded the Canadian Polish
Congress (CPC), Windsor-Chatham Branch and served as President from 2002 to 2006. He was
the co-founder and Chairman of the Polish Week in Windsor Organizing Committees in 2002,
2004, 2006 and 2008; the last of these events being linked to the celebration of 100 years of the
Polish community in Windsor. He was a member of the National Council of the CPC from 2002
to 2006. From 2006 to 2010, he was the Vice-President for Polish Affairs of the CPC. In early
2009, he became also the first Vice-President and between December 2009 and June 2010, he
was appointed Acting President of the CPC. In October 2010 he became the first Vice-President
for Youth Affairs of the CPC. He is currently serving a second term as Honorary Advisor for the
annual Polish-Canadian youth leadership conference, Quo Vadis.
